Due to the coming Thanksgiving holiday, the prices for carbon thin gauge flat products have stayed firmly recently in the US.

Currently, the prices for hot roll steel coils (HRC) from the central and western American mills are about US$675~US$685/short ton and the prices for cold roll coils (CRC) are about US$775~US$785/short ton, remaining at the same level of last week.

It is said that most of the US mills have already completed their December HRC order collection and the shipment for CRC will postpone until next January.

Thus, the US steel mills have considered to increasing their carbon thin gauge flat price further after Thanksgiving holiday.

However, the US mills may also have to face to the competition from the low price import source which will arrive in U.S. market in the first quarter of 2014.
